Health and fitness professionals and partcipants always say drink lots of water. It flushes us out and keeps our organs healthy. Water is also good to drink right before a meal. As you drink a glass or two you are less likely to over eat and it helps in the digestion of the food you are about to eat. In the Bible the Holy Spirit is symbolized at times by water. He the Holy Spirit guides us into ALL truth.John 14:26
The truth is the truth no matter how we take it in so, we need to make sure first of all that we are spending time with God daily in prayer and His Word so we can hear His voice. We are God's temple and just like God wants and needs us to take care of this temple, praying in the Spirit builds us up inwardly in our most holy faith. Jude 1:20 --In addition, there have been studies done by doctors that show praying in the Spirit does some marvelous things in our brains.
The Holy Spirit will also help us to avoid the "junk food" of this life too as we fill up on Him. As ambassadors and athletes we can't run off of twinkies! The Holy Spirit will help us to watch what we eat, think, drink, observe,listen to, react to, act, and on and on. You will find that the more time you spend with God, and praying in the Holy Spirit your appetite towards fleshly or carnal desires will begin to decrease. As we run OUR race other people sometimes kick dirt on us as they run, situations and circumstances have the same ability, not to mention we dirty ourselves from time to time to.
