A Letter from The Professor

I write thses words at the age of fifty-five. During the past ten or twelve years, I have often- and with greater seriousness than ever before- reflected upon the course of my life. Certain patterns of thought and attitude and conduct have come to light, some of them quite disturbing. I look back upon repeated failures in my efforts to subdue inner conflicts and fears, to combat immaturity and celf centeredness, to build genuine and enriching relationships with other people, to conquer besetting sins, and to grow in holiness and communion with God. I see now that every period in my life has been marked by.... struggle. But the persistence of the failures together with a growing understanding of the past, has made the struggles of recent years exceptionally intense and painful. William Carey

How many of us would describe our Christian walk to the world like that? How many would be that honest and commit it all on paper or on the internet? Yet these are the words of a man that has learned to live by the grace of God instead of His own performance.
Paul often referred to himself as the least of God's people. Paul leraned to live by grace. Grace is so awesome and because of it we can admit our failures and struggles to a Father who will not only forgive but help us continue on in this race. None of us are fit in our own right to stand before a holy God. None of us our fit in our own right to serve God or others on His behalf...but God has made it so by His grace. While we like Paul may never apprehend it all we are promised that God looks forward to showing us the riches of His grace not only in this life, but through all eternity. Thank You Father.
