God's Math Pt 2

2 Peter 1:5-8 (New King James Version)

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The instructions listed here are AWESOME as well as NEEDFUL!!! In the kingdom there can be no slothful or overly satisfied saints. We MUST be diligent, make haste, be eager, and earnest in ALL that we do especially where our Christian growth and fruitfulness is concerned. Isn't it something that we can be diligent in so many areas like our job, school, entertainment, and recreation but sometimes when it comes to being diligent in our relationship with God, or the things of God sometimes we just kind of skip through the daisies instead of running hard after Him and for Him. Here God is saying ADD--Adding is always a good thing. ADD to your faith virtue- valor or manliness we need to be courageous and gracious. Next He says add knowledge. Knowledge of God, His will, His ways, His likes, His dislikes and then self control. Oh that's a great ingredient to add right there! One I have made it my business to stay on top of. Last year I decided to watch what I say and watch what I eat. Can I tell you that you definitely need self control for both!LOL!!! Sometimes I want to tell it like it TIS! Sometimes I want to stuff my face with cupcakes. SOMETIMES I DO. Then I have to repent, get it right with whomever, and keep on ADDING self control to my faith. Next perseverance which here means endurance. There is no prize for the quitter..period. Keep adding it... nuff said!!! Next holiness and brotherly kindness. Reminds me that without holiness and peace with all men no man shall enter the kingdom. This brotherly kindness is love for the brethren, are you adding that? It's important because we are family. If we cannot get along down here why would God let us into Heaven and act a fool??? HE WON'T! Lastly love- agape a LOVE FEAST. There are some people in my life who when I get around them it's just a love feast. There is laughter and smiles, hugs and genuine love flowing.....that is how it should be in the Body, even with all the diverse personalities LOVE should be the mark that identifies us to one another and the world too. By adding these things we will be fruitful in the knowledge and will of our LORD Jesus Christ which will help us make our way prosperous, and successful in His eyes...God's ADDITION always leads us to a better life so keep it up (-:

God's Math Pt 1

2 Peter 1:1-8 (New Living Translation) 1 This letter is from Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairness of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior. 2 May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. 3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. 5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. 8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. I don't know about you but MORE is a great word!!! Especially when you are talking to me about the things of GOD! The faith we have came by way of the justice and fairness of Jesus Christ, see I can dance on that one alone RIGHT THERE!!!! Next God is saying that MORE of His grace and peace will be multiplied and given to us as we grow in our knowledge. Our knowledge of what, or in this case who? God the Father and His Son our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.HALLELUJAH!!!! Then He goes onto tell us that He called US!! Aren't you thankful!!! Then Peter tells us that ALL things that peratin to life and godliness have been given to us by His divine power!!! ALL means ALL. How do we access this ALL again through the knowledge of GOD!!! If we don't what we have been given we surely will not be able to enjoy it. Saints of God we have been given EXCEEDINGLY GREAT and PREICIOUS promises by God but we are going to have to pray, fast, and study to get them ALL. I'm thankful that through God's divine power we have now have access to not only the promises but also to God's divine nature. Just think about that. God's divine nature includes a lot of things, love, mercy, joy, grace, peace, longsuffering, forgiveness, justice my oh my!!! As we read again about God's divine power His divine nature has caused us to and continues to cause us to escape the corruption that is in the world through lust. Glory to God!!! Truly God says in Joshua 1:8 meditate day and night on God's Word for then you will make your way prosperous and successful! Here God is saying you will have things added and multiplied to you as you grow in the knowledge of Him and His Son....does it get any better than that???? No........it really doesn't (-:

Get the Doubt Out

Mark 6:1-6 And He went out from thence and came into His own country, and His disciples followed Him. 2And when the Sabbath day had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, "From whence hath this man these things? And what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? 3Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joses, and of Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?" And they were offended at Him. 4But Jesus said unto them, "A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house." 5And He could do no mighty works there, except that He laid His hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. 6And He marveled because of their unbelief. And He went round about the villages teaching. He could no mighty works there except He laid His hands on a few sick folk...WOW!!! I wonder how many demon afflicted people there were in Nazareth or how many children needed the faith of their parents to help get them healed. Like the paralyzed man's four faith friends, whose faith in Jesus and love for their friend made them tear a hole in the roof to get their friend to Jesus!! It's real good to have people like that in your life. A few...the Son of God could only heal a few when He desired to do all He could for the many. That was His way, always giving. So now among His own creation who also happen to be His neighbors, we discover that some could not get there eyes off the fact that although He grew up around them, He now manifested the power and wisdom of God. A power of wisdom to not only teach them mighty things, but also to do mighty things FOR THEM. So then it says He marveled because of their unbelief. What do you need from the Son of God today? Do you have the faith to receive from His heart and hand those promises, or have you let the parasites of unbelief come in and begin to attempt to dismantle your faith. Well may I encourage you all, it's time to get the DOUBT OUT!!! Time to ask God to expose those areas that we have allowed to be infested and get the DOUBT OUT!!! Time to marvel at our own unbelief, in the same way that Jesus marveled. He didn't shrug His shoulders and just brush it off no, He MARVELED and couldn't do much because of that creepy crawler called unbelief. Saints of God we have much to do in these last days, and WE NEED JESUS. We need to have faith in His Word, faith in the resurrection power of God residing on the inside of us through our LORD Jesus Christ. NOW is the time to feed your faith and starve your doubts to death. NOW is the time for us to believe, believe, believe!!!! It's hard to do that if you are not spending time with Him in prayer and fasting, it's impossible to do without spending time living and abiding in His WORD. Man SHALL NOT LIVE by bread alone, but by every WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of GOD!!! I don't know about you, but I NEED God to do some mighty works for me and through me for HIM. Let's get the doubt out and build up that measure of faith given to us so that GOD can show Himself mighty to us and through us. May Jesus marvel because of our faith from this day forward and not at our unbelief (-:

When God Marvels

And He went round about the villages teaching. Mark 6:1-6 So here we have God the Son our LORD, going into His own home town, teaching and wanting to be a great blessing. Here is God the Son wanting to teach the Kingdom, wanting to heal, and do mighty works among His neighbors. Sadly because God the Son is moving in their midst, some folks are getting offended. They can't figure out how Mary's Son is able to move like that...and dare I say maybe they were wondering why they can't, but He can!!! Truly, offense breeds many evils. This next statement is very sobering. God the Son marveled at their unbelief. There are many things I want God the Son to marvel at in my life. I want Him to marvel at my love and devotion for Him first, then my family and my friends. I want Him to marvel at my faith when some of my unborn, yet conceived dreams lay in the womb of my spirit lifeless. I want Him to marvel at the fact that I continue to prepare for their birth, instead of planning for their funeral. I do not want God the Son to marvel about some area of unbelief in my life. Doesn't that just make you pause. That statement make us look at ourselves, and scan our hearts for any "parasites" of doubt in GOD. Maybe there is a circumstance that is just screaming, "Where is your God?" Maybe there are people in your life who have told you constantly that you will not, or cannot do this or that, but GOD clearly told you that you will . Unbelief is a parasite. It's always looking for places in our lives, in our thoughts, to take up residence and settle in. Once it's found a "host" it can dig in and begin it's diabolical assignment of trying to destroy our faith in God, and even the God given faith we have in ourselves through Him. Next week part 2, Get the Doubt OUT!
