By Faith We Understand

Faith is more than a belief in God.  It is also the way of life.

~Hebrews 11:1-3~  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.  By faith we understand that the worlds were framed  by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible".

Do something that demonstrates your faith.  For faith with no effort is no faith at all.

The Work of the Holy Spirit

In the books of the gospel  the disciples who lived and worked with Jesus were his close friends for three years.  As Jesus predicted His death, He shared it with his disciples and they were saddened and afraid to hear Him talk about leaving them.  Jesus tried to help His friends to see the bigger picture, that God had a purpose and a plan. The Holy Spirit was sent to complete several purposes among both believers and non-believers, including pointing out sin and allowing people to understand the truth.

The work of the Holy Spirit seals you.  When you accept Christ, God sealed you with the Spirit.  Believing, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise "Ephesians 1:13".  When those fiery darts seek to destroy you and to diminish your faith in God, the seal turns them away.  He has bought you; God paid too high a price to leave you unguarded.  Therefore, He protects you.  Your Father has no intention of letting you fall.

Read John 16:1-33

Great Hope

In the book of Exodus Moses had big doubts about his ability to lead God's people.  He resisted God, bringing up his unworthiness and lack of authority, his fear of the people's distrust, his speech difficulties and his sheer cowardice.

The remainder of this book should give people with similar self-doubts great hope, for it traces Moses personal development from this fumbling start to emergence as one of history's most decisive and powerful leaders.

I don't know about you, but this story gives me H-O-P-E!

Glory to God, Amen!

Invest In Yourself

~Isaiah 54:2-3~

"Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; spare not; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes, for you will spread abroad to the right hand and to the left."

We've read that a Proverbs 31 woman makes coverlets, cushions, and rugs of tapestry for herself.  She's known to have lived a well-balanced life.  She did a lot for others, but she also took time to minister to herself.

As busy women, we sometimes burn out because we don't take time out to refresh ourselves.  Women need to be ministered to spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.  Each area is important to God; He made them and He is interested in our physical and emotional needs.

Our Proverbs 31 woman clothing were made of the same cloth that the priests wore.  In other words, she had really nice stuff.  We as women feel more confident when we look our best and take good care of ourselves.  In my Joyce Meyer's voice, "you are worth being cared for and don't ever forget it.  You have value, and you should make an investment in yourself."
